Dr. Monika Connally

My love of animals, science, and nature blossomed at an early age. In 1996, I graduated with honors from Colorado State University with my DVM degree, proudly becoming the third generation of veterinarians in my family. From there I sought additional training, and completed a rigorous yearlong internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York.

I then spent three years at a companion and exotic pet hospital before following my heart to specialize in feline medicine. In 2000, I joined one of the few exclusively feline hospitals in the San Francisco area and spent 14 happy years in practice there until quality of life called our family back to Colorado.

Seeking to achieve a better work-life balance, I began working as a relief veterinarian at local veterinary practices, animal shelters, and emergency clinics. While I loved setting my own schedule, the satisfaction of forming lasting bonds with clients and their pets was noticeably absent. I also wasn't spending nearly enough time with my favorite species, cats! Thus, I am pleased to introduce Happy Cats Housecall Vet, LLC, a mobile veterinary practice dedicated to providing quality medical care solely for cats in the comfort and convenience of their own homes.

My family shares our home with two mischievous kitties, Dottie and Dexter. When not at work, I enjoy hiking, and drawing (cats of course!), and proving foster care for cats and kittens through Animal Friends Alliance.

Dr. Connally helped us take care of all our cats for over 10 years. During that time we had cats at many different life stages. Through the joys of kittenhood, the easy going times of young adults, through nursing illness and recovery, and to the heart wrenching final goodbyes, she was there for us. She truly knows and cares about her patients and the humans who are lucky enough to be a part of their lives. For us, Dr. Connally's greatest strength is her ability and desire to explain to us what is going on and to help guide us through the decisions we had to make as caregivers for our cats. - Michelle and Rich G.

Dr. Connally is an amazing vet! She’s taken wonderful care of my cats and I trust her greatly. I hadn’t been a client for long when it was time to put my beloved 19 year old Suz down. Dr. Connally had a new baby at home and could have asked someone else to do it, but she insisted that she wanted to be the one to personally care for Suz and came to our house. That meant the world to me. I couldn’t think straight then, but she did all the right things to make the end of her life beautiful and peaceful. Through foster kittens, routine care, dental treatments, and difficult medical diagnoses, Dr. C. has always been there and has become a trusted friend. When I have a question about my own cat's health, or cat care in general, she is always happy to help and provides compassionate guidance I trust. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Connally to care for your cats! - Darla L.
